Sketchbook Reveal launched in London

Gabi Campanario, publisher and Urban Sketchers founder, by the pop-up shop at the Topolski Studio

The London launch of Sketchbook Reveal took place at the Topolski Studio, in an arch under Hungerford Bridge on the South Bank on 4 October 2025. He and I talked about the book and how it came about in front of a packed audience, before Lucien Topolski displayed works by his grandfather Feliks, and the Sketcher Press pop-up shop stayed open through the afternoon.

Topolski’s approach to drawing made it the ideal venue. The arch is overflowing with his works, and there’s a heap of information about him to discover, on YouTube, for instance, that is evidence of his dedication to observational drawing. There was a sketch walk along the South Bank with Urban Sketchers London through the afternoon too, which inevitably ended in the bar at the British Film Institute.
